Guest guest
Alan - terrific advice - not only for ers, but anyone!!! And I would add, once you HAVE that job, keep networking; you never know who you will meet and when you will need a new job. At first starting out in the work world, I had to prove myself, network, then, gradually as people came to know me AND my work, the jobs came to me...good things DO happen! I would also throw in to do some volunteer work if you can, even 1 day a week, gives one experience and much more too, goes along way in the hiring process too. ~ G atucker2567@... wrote: As much as you can, " network " with > people through church, clubs, forums, etc. If a hiring manager knows > someone who can give you a personal reference, you are miles ahead of > just answering ads in the newspaper. Voc rehab counselors stress that also. .............Melody > As much as you can, " network " with > > people through church, clubs, forums, etc. If a hiring manager knows > > someone who can give you a personal reference, you are miles ahead of > > just answering ads in the newspaper.
