Guest guest
The normal, unbroken skin has a resistance that limits the output of battery power into you. You should never use this on broken skin, where wet tissues and blood are present, since the resistance of the skin is figured into the device! Blood is 700 times more conductive than skin. You could get many times the power, if used on open wounds. Don't use inside the rectum! Or the vagina, or urethra, wherever it's wet inside. You could do irreparable damage there resulting in permanent incontinence, or who knows what else. Avoid sticking into ears, nostrils, anywhere there's delicate membranes. Used on either side of an area, the current will flow through the area. Don't get desperate and try to jump start your recovery. There are factors you might not understand, and some here will know answers. Before you pour on the power, let us know what happened and maybe we can make reasonable suggestions before you plunge into an electrical injury. I'm not that smart. I have burnt myself in the early days and learned to avoid broken skin and voltage higher than 6 volts on unbroken skin. The mouth is an area that has a slightly reduced resistance, so you might wrap your electrodes with more cloth to tame it a bit if treating a dental pain. Usually it's no problem with 6 volts but it can be a bit too hot if there's only a few layers of cloth around them, so wrap some more to introduce more resistance there. Monitor carefully and don't go more than 5 minutes in the mouth with 6 volts. Check the gums a few hours afterwards for signs of irritation, if so, wrap more cloth over electrodes, and wait a day before you repeat. Always be conservative, always monitor what's goin on. Finally, DC current is known to be an anesthetic. So you could go on without feeling a thing, then find you have a burn. I have done this. You should know about it. Cat-footed approach here, people. I will send you this message on joining the group, and every 2 weeks as a reminder. thanks, and good luck, bG
