Guest guest
-Im sorry but ear candleing does NOT work...in fact it is very dangerous....if you are interested in what i have to say then you can look it up in the archives ive said my piece on this topic plenty of times before...or you can request that i leave the information again or feel free to contact me off list....im more than happy to provide information on this topic....BTW im an audiologist....i have seen the after-effects of ear candling gone wrong...If you leave an ear infection alone, chances are that it will take care of itself. Guest guest
Well my baby has been feverish and I went to a naturopath. We think she has an ear infection. She prescribed some garlic and mulein ear drops. I have no idea if they are working. Guest guest
Actually, I think that probably more than a few HAVE taken notice. I for one am postponing ear candling the baby until I have researched thoroughly. As soon as I get time, I will be heading to the archives to see some of your posts. Also, one of our Group members e-mailed me directly to tell me about a program she had seen on ear candling. The ear candler after candling someone's ears then cut and opened the cone to show the " stuff " that was in the cone. She said that the " stuff " was what had been drawn from the ear. So then the show's investigator lights a cone and allows it to burn in an empty glass. Supposedly when the investigator cut and opened the cone - the same " stuff " was there. Very interesting. Guest guest
HI All, I have just been to the archives to have a read about the candles () . I had a mother come to me recently to ask weather I would reccomend ear candling for her daughter . I said no , while I would not like to dismiss the effectiveness totally, I just don't think there are enough people around who really know how to administer them safely . As I use predominately homeopathic tx with my children I recommened this instead .Also the use of antibiotics must reduced to improve overall health etc Regds > Hey,girl. Guest guest
Just as another note...for those of you compelled to do the candleing thing....obviously something that ill never understand....i remember coming across information awhile back that recommended doing it sitting up so that the candles are parallel to the ground KWIM? That way they cant drip into or onto the ear. BTW...i myself dont support the notion of antibiotics for ear infections.....i dont want anyone thinking that i do because i certainly dont. christina in canada > > Hey,girl. Guest guest
You are correct. No one should use any treatment of any kind without knowing all aspects of who, when, what, why, where, and how. Double check everything no matter who tells you. Isn't that what this list is all about?? Ellen ladylumbee@... Guest guest
I agree, you can have severe earaches without an infection. I have suffered from this all my life. Doctor's have never been able to tell my parents, me or my husband why they hurt so bad. ENT told me to peroxide the children's ears. All of mine make lots of ear wax and one has constant fungal infections in her ear. She can tell from time she was 3yo that it was starting to grow. Ellen ladylumbee@... Guest guest
I have heard that breastmilk in the ear is excellent. also on dr mercolas site there is an article that recommends putting hydrogen peroxide in the ear for colds, flu etc. it does sting and hiss and i definitely could not bring myself to put it in my ear or my baby's ear, as much as i am sure it does work!!!!! Guest guest
I'd say its pretty rare for an unvaxed, breastfed baby to get an ear infection. I, again, encourage her to look up symptoms she can figure out in homeopathy book or see a homeopath if he is very ill it hought so too. very rare, which is why i mentioned the c-section antibiotics? was she born by c-section?
