thanks. in my use of 100k potentiometer, yours may be different, i remembered

that the center post was a sort of " common " . The two on the sides gave me a

choice: using one of them I would get an increase in power with a clockwise

turn of the know, while using the other would give me counter-clockwise power

increase. It seemed to me that the outer connectors attached to opposite sides

of the resistance band inside the unit. So, that's my experience. The 100k pot

is a real nice thing to have in addition to your meter...it allows easy tuning

to any type of wetting solution in the sponges.

100K potentiometer. Do I have this right? The pot does away with the necessity

of adjusting the length or size of wire by reducing the voltage (or it amps)?

And to add the pot to the godzilla (with or without meter) all you do is cut one

of the wires and put the pot in. One side of the lead to #1 connection and the

other side of the lead to #3 connetction. The middle connection (#2) is not

needed and is simply bent over.

At times like these I start to feel like I must be kind of dense. I asked a

number of questions, which you probably answered, but doesn't seem like it to

me.

So...

1. Does a pot reduce voltage or amps (current)?

2. My pot is a round 100K with three connectors. If I fold over the center

connection, cut a lead and insert into that single lead (one side of the

disected lead to each connector), is that correct for use with the gozilla?

3. Does using a pot eliminate the need to change the length of the uninsulated

wire in the sponge (or for that matter, on the toothbrush)

all a pot does is increase resistance. if the volts are the same (and a battery

is usually constant unless charging or discharging) then upping the pot will

increase resistance in the circuit, and the current will drop.

2. temporarily attach one wire to center, one to an edge terminal. try it and

watch the meter. then try the other terminal, watch the meter. you should find

they both work but one way the knob turns clockwise to increase the other

counter-clockwise.

3. yes you can just use about an inch of wire and forget it. the toothbrush

idea is inferior and only meant as a temporary fix or if there's a deep

infection requiring more intense current (unlikely), using facial sponges should

do same thing with less hassle and hits more areas at once.
