all a pot does is increase resistance. if the volts are the same (and a battery

is usually constant unless charging or discharging) then upping the pot will

increase resistance in the circuit, and the current will drop.

cut one of the wires and put the pot in. One side of the lead to #1 connection

and the other side of the lead to #3 connetction. The middle connection (#2) is

not needed and is simply bent over.
