Guest guest
take meter out of circuit. Join the wire ends back together, wet sponges. Then set meter to DC volts, touch the two sponges and see if a voltage appears. If not, your problem is the device, if so then your problem is wiring joints at the meter probes. bG
Guest guest
If you need to check the cord, set to " continuity " --->| and test between the ends of each wire, should go to zero if continuous, if not there is an open circuit in that wire..replace wire. No the springs are fine, the rivet and spring can be considered one piece electrically. Admire your patience, it will pay off. I learned this same way, but knocked myself onto the floor using 36 volts instead of 6. you're still ahead of me. bG
Guest guest
bG, I called Radio Shack and they told me you cannot test a 6V battery on my meter, but I did test a AAA battery a few minutes ago and I got a reading so it seems the meter is working though I can't figure out why I'm not getting a reading with the milliamps section when I complete the godzilla. I'm doing something wrong. I will keep trying. Thanks for your help. May 13, 2011 10:11:02 AM, wrote: take meter out of circuit. Join the wire ends back together, wet sponges.
