Guest guest
We had strawberry ice cream tonight. I used just a small amount (to the blades) apricot nectar because I did not have any grape juice concentrate. Then added a cup of strawberry yogurt (a organic one from Oregon I think), and 3 dates, one of which was the largest date I have ever seen!. I spun that first, to break down the dates. Then added the strawberries. First run, it made "pillows" but they quickly sank to level. So I added a few more strawberries and ran again and this time it was perfect. Husband was so impressed how smooth it was and how you did not taste dates. Yummy I have blueberries downstairs. So I guess tomorrow night will be blueberry ice cream. Guest guest
I just use the recipe that I think I got off of here but cannot remember for sure, 1 c. half and half cream 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. dry milk powder 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups ice I am by myself when I have made it so I half the above recipe, I substitute other sweeteners for the sugar such as splenda (I know not that good for you but I have lots of it I need to use up), honey, dates or stevia. I made the recipe as is the first night for vanilla ice cream, then the next time I substituted 1 cup of ice for 1 cup of strawberries and then the next time 1 cup of ice for blueberries. All were absolutely heavenly! I have tried starting with juice but then it tastes more like sorbet. Carolyn Note do not have the blueberry before going out any where, my lips were blue after.
Anyhow, I found I was not believing I could even do it. When I would get an A on something I had this thought, I must be fooling the teacher. Finally I realized, my brain and motivation have matured and I CAN do this and I am smart. Just those couple of semesters improved my self confidence, and I have always thought I have pretty good self esteem but it got even better. You will too, just take it easy on yourself. Yes I would love to have a job with benefits. Vet Techs rarely get benefits! I am now thinking of blueberry ice cream with chocolate sauce. On the vitamix recipe site they show blueberry icecream with choc sauce on top. But there is no recipe for the chocolate sauce. Carolyn In a message dated 4/11/2011 4:37:09 A.M. I decided on medical office admin. because it was somewhat related studies to what I already have. I just hope when I am done I can get a good job at the hospital. I thought of other things I would sooner but at my age had to consider how long it would take me. Most of the vet techs that I went to school with are no longer in the field either. Oh well. You keep thinking on the strawberry icecream choc covered and let me know when you come up with something. LOL! K... going to write my quiz. Carolyn In a message dated 4/11/2011 4:00:08 A.M. Maybe that is why my son's best friends spouse quit her job as a Vet Tech. I keep thinking about that Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ice Cream and how I can make it work. Maybe a base of yogurt and cocoa, with dates to sweeten, and strawberries to freeze it, then a few extra strawberries and maybe chocolate chips near the end and run on low speed to just grind a bit and mix in? But that would require the frozen part not be too frozen yet. So still thinking on that one. Woke up in middle of the night with a kink in my neck! I am taking a full time diploma course, Medical Office Administration through e-learning, so it is all online. A lot of the stuff I already took when I did my Vet technician course so thankfully it makes it easier than if I did not have that background but it is a lot of work. There is always something due and I am now finishing up 4 courses so even more things are due and then I will get 4 new ones. I am hoping to get a better job than I had as here vet technician's do not make much. Carolyn In a message dated 4/10/2011 12:32:58 A.M. It seems to be the only green I have liked in my smoothies. I tried romaine and did not like that. I have not tried the kale and collards that have been mentioned yet but think they would be strong tasting. I have finally come to enjoy the spinach and even have my daughter now getting her dad to buy it for her at his house. But she does not get it in a smoothie there but adds it to her salad or makes a salad with it. k... I guess I have to go shopping again and find some other greens. Guest guest
Hi BG and all, I built my metered Godzilla several weeks ago but I'm just getting around to using it. I have Lyme disease and a few auto-immune thyroid diseases that were either brought on by the Lyme, or at least exacerbated (more likely). I've treated the Lyme with ABX, Salt/C, and MesoSilver, so far. The biggest issues that I've been having this summer are hip, back and leg pain, and sinus issues (seems like everyone has been having sinus). I've treated the sinuses with several times/week neti pot and colloidal silver sprayed in the sinuses which has helped some. Nothing that I have done for the pain has helped and I've done a lot - PT (conventional and myofascial release, massage, chiro, aquatics, swimming stretching, light weights, NSAIDs and others. I don't know if the Godzilla is effective for reducing inflammation and pain but I figured that it couldn't hurt so I tried it on my hip last night and then on my sinuses too since I know from reading here that it does often help with that. One thing that I noticed is that even after ringing out the sponges my meter was showing 1.2 and higher with even very light pressure on the sponges (stainless steel forks embedded in sponges). I let them dry out, almost completely, and then tried it again last night and I was able to get the .6 - 1.0 that I understand is more desirable. I didn't really feel any tingling, burning, no sensations at all really. I also had to be pretty careful to maintain steady pressure on my sponges to maintain that current otherwise it would easily spike to higher levels. Is that anything that I need to be worried about as long as I'm not feeling anything and/or getting burned by it? Do these devices work to reduce inflammation and pain in joints and muscles? Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
Very little info on Lyme's, so you are our pioneer! I had thought in the past that since antibiotics do reach most of the Lyme, and it comes back due to hidden reserves in the spine and brain, that the only way was to electrify the head and spine, while taking antibiotics. I have no idea if that will work. bG > > Hi BG and all, I built my metered Godzilla several weeks ago but I'm just getting around to using it.
