bG, After determining that the Radio Shack multimeter doesn't register that low of a milliamp I went back to the original Cen-Tech multimeter. I checked the 9V battery and determined that the voltage was fine. I then went back to Radio Shack to buy fuses and replaced the one in the Cen-Tech. After hooking everything up I still got no reading. I then put the two sponges together with the multimeter on and got nothing. If the power was there I should have gotten sparks. No? I'm now going to try and build a godzilla using everything I have leaving out the multimeter. If I place the sponges together (to test for a connection) will there be a lot of sparks? I'm trying to determine where my connection problem is. Thanks

just to be sure, the wiring goes like this:

battery + ----->sponge A

battery - ----->meter probe A---->meter probe B----->sponge B

So current leaves one side of battery via wire to sponge A.

Current leave other side of battery enters meter, the exits meter through the

other probe via wire to sponge B.

You only cut one of the battery wires, and the ends you cut are attached to the

meter probes.

From point of view of the meter:

Probe A goes to wire to one sponge

Probe B goes to wire to one side of battery.

Is this how you have it wired? bG

Ok, so with a potentiometer, it goes like this:

One side of battery connected via wire to an electrode.

Other side of battery via wire to center connector of potentiometer, then one side connector of potentiometer via wire to one meter probe, then other meter probe via wire to the other electrode.

right?
