Well, doesn't look like you got an answer to this one yet. So, I'll take a crack at it since I've been mulling this one over myself. And spent quite a bit of time reading and looking at the photo section.

BG can correct me if I do not make the case adequately.

Potentiometer is not absolutely essential. However, it will make using the Godzilla more convenient because without a potentiometer you will have to experiment to find the right size sponse or right amount of gauze or other cloth to wrap the electode with to get the right amount of resistance. Also with a potentiometer and meter you can be assured that you have right about of current going to the elctrodes.

Now as to the placement of the electrode: Place the potentiometer in series on one side of the wire coming from the battery. While I have not seen anything saying so specifically, I would place it between the battery and the meter.

This is the way I have mine wired. Haven't used it yet, cuz based on what I have read on the list I will have to return my meter to Radio Shack and get another one.

What do you say, BG, do I have this figured out correctly?

Thanks.

I asked a few questions , which were posted earlier, but got no reponses.

I'm constructing a metered godzilla and I'm trying to figure out where to place this potentiometer. Is it essential or can I skip using one? Can I use any type of water?

Thank you
