Guest guest
I agree with that. My gait is somewhat altered because of my weak left foot and ankles, and as a result, my posture tries to compensate. It just doesn't work. I have neck and back pain on a regular basis now, but find that taking Vioxx really helps. I just shudder to think that Imight have to rely on this for long term relief. karon
Guest guest
Although my type has never been officially diagnosed they believe it to be Type 1. I too had the severe leg cramps as a child and teenager, terrible pain. The only greater pain I can remember was passing a kidney stone in my 30's. I have occasional foot pain, burning and tingling but nothing too bad. I guess i am very lucky in that respect. I did, however, have severe leg cramps when I was a child and adolescent. I do believe that these cramps were CMT related but I almost never have them any more. My own impression is that they resulted from a combination of the onset of my CMT and growth. They were not, however, " growing pains " as my pediatrician thought at the time; they were a result of the CMT. > Anyway, I know from this site that many w/ CMT DO experience pain but there are also MANY MANY types of CMT and pain could depend on not only what type (I or II) but what sub-type. > I have also read that a lot of the pain that many w/ CMT experience is not neurological per se, but is secondary to the CMT b/c the CMT leads us to place more strain on joints or on back from incorrect stance. > I agree w/ Sue; probably best to take care of yourself as best you can and don't worry about the pain. > Marti > > > for CMT AWARENESS; Wear Your Violet Ribbons, > more awareness of CMT equals more research funds and > more knowlege of Charcot Marie Tooth Disease! > > is the SOLE authentic ribbon distributor! Guest guest
Joyce, I am glad to hear that Vioxx has been working for you. I,too, am a firm believer in this medication. I am only at one a day but there are times when I have been tempted to take two! Best of luck to you, too and let me know what the doc says after your blood work. By the way, do you suffer from back and neck pain?? Karon
