Guest guest
Ray: I too have CMT Type 2 and, thank heavens, do not experience pain. I did, however, have severe leg cramps when I was a child and adolescent. I do believe that these cramps were CMT related but I almost never have them any more. My own impression is that they resulted from a combination of the onset of my CMT and growth. They were not, however, " growing pains " as my pediatrician thought at the time; they were a result of the CMT. Anyway, I know from this site that many w/ CMT DO experience pain but there are also MANY MANY types of CMT and pain could depend on not only what type (I or II) but what sub-type. I have also read that a lot of the pain that many w/ CMT experience is not neurological per se, but is secondary to the CMT b/c the CMT leads us to place more strain on joints or on back from incorrect stance. I agree w/ Sue; probably best to take care of yourself as best you can and don't worry about the pain. Marti
Guest guest
Hi Karon I, too, am taking Vioxx for orthopedic pain, and my dr has me on twice the recommended dose! I tried taking only the once a day recommended dose on my own, but I could really feel a difference, and was down for the count for a few days. And I've been on Vioxx this way for about a year and a half. I am scheduled for blood work later this month so I will let you know if they find any negative results that may be attributed to the Vioxx. I just don't think of this being long term relief--when something better comes along, I'll think about stopping this then! It took a lot of trying different drugs, some with horrible side-effects, to find the Vioxx worked for me without side effects. So I am just thankful this drug keeps me functional! All the best for the New Year to you! Joyce -- In @y..., kedleson@a... wrote: > I agree with that.
