Guest guest
Kara, a neurologist told me when I was 27 I would be in a wheelchair by the time I was 30. I am not 'there' yet and almost 50! (yikes!) I worried my whole life growing up with CMT that I would be confined to a wc. Hasn't happened. So, I know as parents you are concerned, but Drs. miss the mark sometimes. And worry is stressfull for you and as my mother did with me, projected that onto me. Fortunately, I got over the worry myself, with the real help of my 12 step program and the help of great Drs. who said " You are writing your own life story with CMT. Do not let anyone predict or tell you what will happen. No one who offers that wisdom can be considered an expert, YOU are the expert about you! " Get Paolo's book, read it, and find out what can be done in Rehabilitation Management. Give a book to your Dr. and PTs. ~ Gretchen Kara Brisendine wrote: > > I am as scared as you are that my daughter will be in a wheel chair by the time she is
