Guest guest
Hello , I know where you are coming from I was young when I was diagonsed with cmt. I was picked on by very cruel kids in school and at times even wished I weren't alive. The best advice I can give you and I have done this look into a proffession which your interested in but keep in mind the side effects of cmt legs feet arms hands, ect a good profession that i chose to go to school for is drug and alcohol counslor or maybe some other type of work similar to that, your not no you feet alot you can tape session so not much writting and computer now have software so you just speak into it and dont have to type if you hands are bothering you. My first love was nurseing but I never finished was much to difficult my finger have very little feeling so I couldntt even feel a pluse. Just look at all of your opptions keeping in mind cmt and remember you can do anything you put your mind to! Take Care everything has a way of working out!things will be fine ----- Original Message ----- From: mel2mars Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 5:25 PM Subject: [] Re: Future: Fear? Hi : It's ok....all of us are scared sometimes about our futures. When I was you age (I'm 46 now) I was worried about the next set of stairs I had to climb at school, getting on and off the bus, walking down a long hall, etc. You know, I don't think I thought too much about my future, except that I didn't want to cope with those difficulties in college, so I didn't go. I started working right away in an office and things turned out okay. But I'm a firm believer now that higher education is best, especially for disabled, and accessbility is better now. Are you talking with a counselor at school and sharing your concerns? I'm sorry, I haven't been reading all posts so I may not know all that has gone on.
