Dear friends and loved ones;

Many of you know already that I went to Texas, Wed.

evening to be with my father and the family during a

surgery; Wed. morning about 3:20 a.m. Dad's heart

stopped; he'd had several of these similar spells in

July of this summer; Mom thought he was blacking out

but Dad didn't think it was anything to worry with and

wouldnt' go to the doctor; Glad it happened in the

hospital this time so they knew exactly what had

happened;

Tues. a.m. early he woke up and felt dizziness,

nausea, and broke out in a cold sweat like he did when

he had a major heart attack in 1994, and (five) bypass

surgery; So, after all day of not feeling quite right,

Mom and one of my sisters talked him into going to the

emergency room. When they got him in they coudln't get

him to remember why he had come there. . . so Mom told

them about the incidents and the previous ones in the

summer.

They admitted him and ran tests all day Tues. Then,

Wed. morning he had another episode; and the nurses

were able to rouse him (yelling his name and beating

him in the chest to get his heart going again) Poor

Mom, was in the room sleeping too and got woke with a

terrible scare!

They decided he needed a Pacemaker and scheduled it

for Thurs. morning. However, they decided after a

stress test he might need to be checked in the bypass

area, to make sure there were no blockages there

again; he was also running a low grade and temp and

had congestion and they decided to postpone his

Pacemaker surgery and do a catherterization on Thurs.

extensive testing. Also, giivng him breathing

treatments to clear up his bronchiatus.

There was concerns after the catheratization, because

he accidently pulled the catherater out after the

test, and on the way back to his regualr room; and

bled for two hours at the site. So, it was concern

then he's lost too much blood;

Finally, Fri. the doctors decided he needed a

pacemaker after testing and finding his previous

(five) bypasses were all good and no problems there.

He stayed in the hospital Sat. and Sun. " getting room

service " as my daughter, Sierra called it! LOL They

scheduled at that point for Mon. or Tues. Finally,

Sun. the doctors said Mon. between 12 and 4 p.m. They

actually did it about 1:25 to 3:20p.m.

I left for home at 6:45p.m. and got back to AR this

morning at 1:20 a.m. If I have to return, this weekend

I will; But, our kids have missed three days of school

already, and Mearl isn't sure he's got a job at this

point. Keep us in your prayers too;

During Dad's hospital stay he's shown to have weak

veins, and they decided a knot on his neck he's had

for some time is an anurysm(sp). The IV's blow out of

his veins and they had to redo several times; and even

before this for several months if not a year, he's had

bleeding from the rectum; they are doing a colonoscopy

Wed. sometime to see if there is anything serious

going on there or if he's just having some rectal

bleeding from swollen and weakened veins.(hemroids)

He's also had some problems that could be prostate

trouble so he will get a " complete overall " while

there and be tested for those considerations. I told

Mother, to check all these " minor troubles " (he

thinks)while she has him there; LOL He's going to have

to get used to going regularly to the doc now for the

Pacemaker patients have to be checked as often as

every three months;

Keep them in your prayers, and also my family. it's a

stressful time, and also Mother is very congested and

has been sick, and having infection in bronchials all

this past week while there sitting with him. We all

appreciate the cards, flowers, the visits and phone

calls as well as your love and support to them both;

I made the trip okay, but expect I will feel it in a

few days; I may have to return depending on what is

found out in the next few days; thank you all for

keeping him in your prayers for so far things look

good; He came through the Pacemaker surgery fine, and

seems to feel good; His coloring is back and he is

eating well; He's in great Spirits!

You all know he's come through many rough things in

the past! He always trusts in God and stays in a good

frame of mind! As one of the nurses said yesterday

when I was leaving, " HE " S A TOUGH OLD BIRD, ISN " T

HE?!!!!! " And evidently, he still has " work " to

finish!

I'll keep you posted!

Love Libby and Family

P.S. I'll answer emails as I can, I have quite a full

box and will take time to get through all of it; BTW I

did fianlly get a CPAP and so far seems to help me

feel so much better; I'm also using a TENS unit and

getting good results; thanks for your prayers for me

and hope to continue improving;
