Guest guest
Hi – I am new to this group … so I bit of background on myself - I've had neck pain for several years. It was the kind of pain like I needed to pop my neck. In Nov/Dec of last year (2010) it really started hurting. I have gone thru all the hoops my insurance has wanted me to go through – Massage, Physical Therapy, Cortisone Shot, Cauterization of the nerves, now finally surgery. I have three bulging discs the will be fused Aug 16th. I do take hydrocodone for the pain as well as Advil. I am fairly active – I usually ride my bicycle three times per week and workout at a gym twice a week. The pain has put a damper on some of this activity. I do know I have a better attitude when I workout, whether it be at the gym or on my bike. I am bi-polar and am on a combination of two drugs to control which seem to work well. However, I still struggle from mild depression from NOT working out as much as I usually do. My question(s) is: Are there any persons in this group that are fairly active and are dealing with or have dealt with neck issues? What do you do to keep active despite pain? If you are in recovery – again – what do you do to stay active? Thank you, Sue Vest
