Rochelle

I knew you were a real class act long ago and such a pioneer to this site!

I don't have any news as far as my pain in my neck and now adding muscle pain in

my lower back and sciatica pain that has me down for 5 weeks now. PMR and Fibro

too and I feel so disabled but I keep on trucking, writing and singing.

I wish I was better

Much luck to you in this endeavor of yours!

Annie

Subject: Looking for Stories about neck/back pain

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for stories to post on my new website.  I thought it would be

helpful, if I could post either ways that people have overcome their neck/back

pain or advice on what not to do when looking for help for their neck/back pain.

So if anyone feels like writing up something, I will be glad to look at it and

consider adding it to my website--if long enough it will get its own page.

Also I have a list going of support groups.  I added ours even though it's been

really quiet lately. I remember how helpful it was to me when my neck was a

total mess.  If anyone knows of other good support groups, I'd appreciate if

you'd pass it along to me.

I've found that support groups are a crucial part of dealing with illness--even

life saving at times.

Thanks,

Rochelle

Dear Annie,

Thanks for the good thoughts.

I wish there was something that could help you. Have you tried physical therapy

again? If you are planning to try to find a PT who evaluates posture. Since

you've had rotator cuff problems that's a sign of impingement from a muscle

imbalance. That's what my rotator cuff tears were from.

It's great that you are still singing. That should be helping you with upper

body posture. when I take deep breaths my upper body completely straightens up.

Take care,

Rochelle

Dear Annie,

Sounds like you are doing all you can. I believe that in time, if you treat your

body right, it can heal even after many years. I had post-viral gastroparesis

(paralyzed stomach) that took over 2 years to mostly heal. I went from barely

able to eat anything, to a cup and a half of food at a time, though I can only

eat 4 foods (due to my mast cell disease).

I'm wondering, have you tried an elimination diet to see if some of your

symptoms abate? Certain foods have been associated with arthritic conditions,

which I used to believe was a fairytale but since I'm forced to be on my own

elimination diet (those are the only foods I tolerate or my abnormal mast cells

release tons of histamine--I carry an epipen just in case) the arthritis pain in

my " rigid " big toe and my hip have disappeared. Well my neck and back pain is

mostly gone to, but I attribute that to my improved posture (my posture was

really bad!).

Just a thought,

My Best to you,

Rochelle
