" Joe, I think it's like choosing any other doctor; check them out first. I went to a Doctor of Acupuncture that turned out to be no doctor at all. I had a funny feeling on the first visit and an even more uneasy feeling after the second and last visit. That's when I started researching the laws and requirements of my state plus I did some research on the guy. I learned a valuable lesson for the future I'm sure. Check them out first! There are websites where you can see if a doctor has a license but in many states, Osteopath and Acupuncture are not regulated. In my case, I wouldn't have been concerned but the guy was making grandiose claims of his past practice as a medical doctor and it seemed to be a matter of ego more than letting me know he could help me. It turned out that he has never been licensed as a doctor of anything and after talking to a true professional, I learned that some of his 'practicing' could have been detrimental. Do I think Osteopath can help? Yes. I didn't go long enough to see if it would work but I'd try again with the right doctor. There are books out there also that explain natural helps for certain conditions. You might want to do a bit of reading in that area as well and maybe find a Osteopath that will talk with you and work with you. I think it's all in the practioner that you find. Best of luck, Dianne **************It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here. Guest guest
Hi all, I have a question to ask and would appreciate any comments from other members. I have just been told that there is nothing that can be down for my back and neck problems, I just have to live with it and change my lifestyle to fit in with the problems; I as you can guess was shattered to here this. Somebody suggested going to an Osteopath; " My question is what are other peoples' experience with the Osteopath " that is if they have been to one or " how do others feel about this practioner? " Warmest regards, Jodie
Guest guest
well. osteopaths. I like osteopaths! they are trained in bones, but a doctor. My chiro's son is coming out an osteopath. I had experiences with one long ago who cared for my mother. He treated her rheumatoid arthritis, He was a great doctor, he cared, kept up on the latest treatments. my chiro wanted to send me to an osteopath. he always tells me the truth, so i say go for it. I know exactly how you feel about having to admit or be told theres nothing anyone can do. I asked my chiro when am i going to be better? HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE? he answered. least he was honest. But never GIVE up. It'll be ok. Most things settle down with TIME.... a long time...I would say try an osteopath. then report back to us here on the board! hope you feel better cindy -- In PainInTheNeck- Back , " Jodie " <jobretim@...> wrote: > > Hi all, > I have a question to ask and would appreciate any comments from other > members. > I have just been told that there is nothing that can be down for my > back and neck problems, I just have to live with it and change my > lifestyle to fit in with the problems; I as you can guess was shattered > to here this. > Somebody suggested going to an Osteopath; " My question is what are > other peoples' experience with the Osteopath " that is if they have been > to one or " how do others feel about this practioner? " > > Warmest regards, > > Jodie > Hi Jodie, XOOMA X20 WATER! I was NOT LOOKING TO LOSE WEIGHT, ONLY GET HEALTY! I joined Xooma, on 11-01-07 I am 59 , I was born breech, and grew-up with Scoliosis, I have a curve in my spine in the shape a the letter (S) that was more to the right of my body, and starting to become very noticeable as the years went on. As I became a Woman was also in so much pain from my Scoliosis, I thought this was the way my life was going to be forever, and never having the joy of enjoying my family! I was a 4 to 5 pot coffee drinker a long with all the pills for pain, and was told by Doctors I now had Osteoporosis, back in 1996, I was put on 70mg. of a weekly tablet / pill, but as the years went by, I was so tried of taking tablet/pills, and feeling like someone I wasn't, I wanted to be there for my family, so I just stopped, and started looking for something else to help me get though my day. I now drink 1 cup, if that of coffee a day! I was one who never drink water, I should of known better with my back ground in Health & working in a Hospital back in the 60's, I knew that water was one of the most important things our bodies needed to keep us going, but like so much of our water back then, there was so much in it that could do more damage to us then good, maybe in the back of my head I knew this?, but Now with X2O " I AM A WATER DRINKER " , and have found out it has done Great thing to and in my body! Not to say I jumped at it, NO! NO! It took me time before I decided to give it a try. Started taking the x2o, and I soon had flu like symptoms, and thought I should just stop it , but to my surprise, it was over as fast as it came! My body was going though a detox, I now know had to happen (in my case.) I am a great believer of meditation along with everything else I do, and Now I do stretching to control my back pain, which Now is very little, and doing this together with the x2o I can say, I don't think I will ever be without X20 in my Water! I have been to see many Doctors about this, In the year 2000 we moved out of the City, and now I have One Doctor I found and started to go see when I couldn't take the pain. Then went to my Doctor on 11-26-07 while being on the X20 Water, he said that he has noticed my curve wasn't as noticeable, and that was when I knew in my heart it will be getting better as time goes by! My Husband has also said the same thing! Just to say to those of you with Scoliosis and have lived with this illness also with the Pain that comes from it, There is help out there, you just have to know where to look for it, Never give-up to find a Pain Free life! Must say to you, This is Not a quit fix for Most Scoliosis, It takes time for the X2O Water to start doing what needs to do for your body, and is a great product that can help you deal with your Pain, and for many like myself, Great results that will come in time from it. ......UP-DATE............... It is now 02-05-08 I Now have notice two more Great things happening to my body! Back in the 80's I noticed a wart that was giving me pain, and had it removed more then two times, but always came back, so I just lived with it, now that I am on the X20 I have noticed it is getting smaller, and does not hurt me. I ask my Husband to take a look , and let me know if he thought it was getting smaller, and he said YES! It was hard like all warts, but now it is soft, and smaller. Some thing I really did not want to talk about, but know so many of you need to know this. I also had noticed a Fungus on my right big toe nail after hitting it out doors while trying to enjoy my children. The Fungus NAIL like so many of us have from every day bumps, and drop on our feet that causes infection, and fungus, it was in and had gone to work on my nail, started to look very bad, and it also hurt at times. When it became large and thick like so many do, I went to have it checked, and removed, and the Doctor said it came from a Fungus which I had already knew, and wanted to have me take a Med. that would of worked from the inside out , and kill the infection, and would cost me over $300.00, at that time. I ask the Doctor if it would do the job, and would the Fungus come back? He said there was a 50 / 50 chance it would. So I decided not to take the Meds. and live with it just like every thing else. To my surprise the X20 Water was working from the inside out on me just like the Meds. the Doctor wanted me to take! My toe nail never look better! I now can wear open toe shoes! UP-DATE 02-28-08 Went to see my Doctor, and he said keep doing what ever your doing, your doing GREAT! All I do is drink my X2O! Come join me, and Robin, and so, so many others that have found out how to love life again!
