Guest guest Posted January 25, 2002 Report Share Posted January 25, 2002 My experience with the patch at fifrst was good, however, I became very tolerant. With a double dose (2 patches every 3 days, I was overdosed and had a horrible 3 day detox. This is Fentanyl; I was not prescribed it for CMT pain, but for my back/disc pain. As it turns out it has alcohol in it; I am allergic to alcohol. Any CMT pain I have is best managed by ice, heat, or Elavil. I had good response with Neurontin too. Those two meds worked directly on my nerves. With those and my meditative practice I can stay at a #2 on the CMT Pain Scale, unless I stand on my feet too much.
