Guest guest
Dear Group, I would not normally share something of this nature but today, May 30th marks the 5th anniversary of my brother's completed suicide--- he hurled himself in front of a dump truck going over 70 miles an hour. I was devastated for a year, so sick with the demon depression that I lost over 70 pounds, never got put of bed, isolated myself and was finally hospitalized for a period of 10 days--- and then slowly the grace of God healed me and this morning as I remember the exact time that he chose to do this tragic and selfish act of anger and loss of hope (for he was very sick) I feel blessed because I have learned that sometimes God allows things to happen to us in order for us to truly depend on Him. And from the tragedies we are given fruits of the spirit. I have been blessed by my brother's leaving me-- we were only 15 months apart and I took care of him most of my young life and we both " held onto one another " because we knew that we had the same affliction, called Bi polar. But I have come to know that God never gives any of us a burden no matter how tragic or how great that He knows that we cannot handle. We always learn from our illnesses, our suffering, and our losses. We learn how to receive the loss with grace and dignity and how to accept our physical or mental burdens and illness with a Truth that it will grow us strong even if it means that we will have pain. I think of the apostle in prison and though he was stoned, despised and isolated from his fellow man, he never lost Hope or love for God. So I say to you my fellow sufferers of whatever pain and loss that you have individually, There is a learning to be made from each and all adversity. May God give the same to you as he has given to me Bless you all in my sad day of remembrance, Annie A poet is, after all, to see
Guest guest
Annie...I'm so sorry to hear about your brother! Loss is never easy, and I think when it happens in such a way this makes it so much more difficult for the loves ones left behind. Bless you in your time of rememberance! HUGS TO YOU!
