Guest guest
Hi Gayle, I completed 24 weeks of treatment in Jul '04 and it was a great feeling to get towards the end of treatment. I fortunately did not have the misfortunes like you with injuries and illnesses. I did work 20 hours a week as a waitress and that helped me a lot. After treatment recovery was a breeze and I felt better than I did in years even after starting treatment, I noticed I had more energy. It must have been because the virus was not attacking my liver anymore. Jean Gayle <mollydamaula@...> wrote: Hi everyone and welcome to the new members. The last 10 days or so have been unreal! First my doc tells me I'm fat (Thanks Doc!...you SOB. lol), then I had a growth removed from my arm which left a 1.5 " gash in it, I twisted my ankle walking to the mail box then came down with a horrible ear and sinus infection 2 days later! With the way my luck's been going I hope someone speaks up if they see me running with scissors. lol Gads...sometimes I just gotta laugh. ;-) I take injection #21 of 24 tomorrow so the end is near thank goodness. I was thinking about how easy it was in the beginning on tx and how hard it's gotten now and decided that a big part of the problem is laying around. You can't spend 4-6 months on your back and expect it to have no effect on how you feel, but there's not much you can do about it since you feel too bad to do anything! Definitely a catch 22. I'm so looking forward to feeling good again and managed to get a walk through the pines in the day before I screwed my ankle up. It's healing nicely so as soon as my ear heals I'm getting back out there to walk. By the way if you have dogs the fizzing ear wash they sell for them works wonders on clogged infected ears. I didn't have any sweet oil. :-p Hope everyone is doing well today. Tim! How'd that scope go on the 9th?? I see no posts on it in group and hope your news was good. Guest guest
Oh I'm so looking forward to getting where you are!! I'm glad to hear you're doing so well, that's a big boost for me hearing someone who's finished and feeling great! Way to go! I can't imagine waiting tables (I used to waitress) while on tx but I suppose the exercise helped, so ear infection or not I'm getting started tomorrow. Thanks for the words of encouragement. ;-) Gayle > Hi everyone and welcome to the new members. > The last 10 days or so have been unreal! >
Guest guest
Thanks Tammy. Yep I'm just about there! That's an easy question for me and I don't mind at all. I'd been on a 3 month long bender of drinking rum when I was diagnosed and by that time they said I was stage 4 cirrhosis and had a lot of damage. My liver needed time to heal without the virus eating away at it so treatment was the only real option I had. Simple choice for me. Yes the side effects get pretty bad at times especially the longer you're on it....for me anyway, and a few others I've talked to share that opinion. I guess the choice comes down to what you have or don't have to do, and I felt I had to. I'm type 2 and the amount of tx is low so it's been bareable. However I've heard type 1 people say their meds are double and they have pretty much twice the sides I've had. Hats off to them because that would be very hard to take. Good luck with whatever you decide in the end and we're all here for you regardless of your decision. Take care, Gayle > Hi everyone and welcome to the new members. > The last 10 days or so have been unreal! > First my doc tells me I'm fat (Thanks Doc!...you SOB. lol), then I had > a growth removed from my arm which left a 1.5 " gash in it, I twisted my > ankle walking to the mail box then came down with a horrible ear and > sinus infection 2 days later!
