AFO's

hello Kara, i agree that sometimes doctors don't take

enough time to explain things to where we can

understand them. you need to be firm with them and

demand they sit and talk with you. tell them you wont

leave without getting the answers you are paying for.

stand up to them usually they will listen if you are

firm.

just my opinion but i think that the AFO's would be a

bit hard for a 2 yr. old to deal with. it makes

walking more difficult at first and with a 2 yr. old

they haven't been walking that long to begin with.

with my son i noticed he walked pigeon toed when he

began walking and his ankles turn some also, we bought

him some high boots that would tie fairly tight to

support his ankles and he did much better. he is now 4

and wears AFO's. he's been in them for 6 months now

and still he has trouble with them. he can't bend

right to pick toys up from the floor and he gets very

hot and aggitated with them at times. i think if the

high shoes work it's best to wait for the AFO's for

awhile. it's stressful for young ones. again just my

opinion. hope it helps.
