muscle biopsy/spinal tap

Martha,

In my case, and I suspect in others, a muscle/nerve biopsy and spinal

tap was preformed to rule out other neuro diseases, as medicine then was

a lot of guess work! Now with the DNA testing CMT diagngosis is easier,

just wish they would get the tests developed for ALL CMT types, then we

could do without EMGs! The EMG and results are still indicative of CMT

in most cases. I would think there is no reason to have a biospy or tap

unless your doc thinks you have another neuro disease - or needs to pay

for his summer vacation LOL ~ Gretchen
