Guest guest
I am still on this group. I am a lurker here. I am still in a lot of pain. I am 32 years old and have osteogenisis imperfecta (OI). A fancy word for brittle bones, I have had over a 100 breaks and fractures in my life. I have severe pain in my neck with lots of muscle knots and severe pain in my shoulder blade area and upper back mostly on my right side. I had an x-ray that has showed nothing, bone density test, and a bone scan on my neck area that showed a previous healed fracture in the area I am experiencing pain. I had a nerve test that showed a mild pinch nerve but no other damage. My pain management doctor just ordered an MRI of the shoulder area. I have been dx with osteoarthritis, osteoporosis (worse on my right side) and myofacial pain syndrome. I have been getting Lidocaine shots in the knots once a month. Pain management has me on Ultram, a muscle relaxer, an anti inflammatory and 15 Perocet a month for the severe pain. I am also on Fosamax, calcium and Vitamin D3 for the osteoporosis. I have tried everything PT, trigger point massage, patches, creams, exercise, heat and cold packs and a TENS Unit. So far nothing is really helping. L I am hoping that the MRI shows something that they can fix. At 32 I feel like I am 92 and I hate trying to manage my pain all the time. Is anyone in the same boat? The pain in my shoulder blade is on the inside of the blade kind of where the part that sticks out if that makes any sense. It constantly cracks and the pain is a hot searing pain that sometime causes my right arm and hand to go numb. Also something off topic and something I could use some help with. I am a mom of 5 children and one of my children my 5 year old daughter (a triplet) has severe cerebral palsy (which I am sure doesn't help my pain). She is total care and cannot sit, crawl, stand, walk or talk. However she is very bright and is not affected in that area. We entered her in a contest to win an Ipad on facebook. All you have to do is like the page and scroll down (you may have to click view more posts) and click like under the picture of my 5 kids with my name ( Cavanna). The person with the most likes wins. We are currently in second place and down by 300 votes. The contest ends on the 28th. If you would be so kind to vote for her it would mean so much to us. An Ipad can be used as a communication device and help her talk. Please feel free to post it as your status and ask your friends and family to vote. We need all the help we can get. You do not need to friend me to vote. Wishing you all a pain free day.

Guest guest
MELISSA, has anyone ever talked to you about PMR? Polymylagia Rheumatica? It is intense over all body pain in the muscles and hard to diagnose but can be detected in a high SED rate-- ask your DR! I have not only C spine DDD and stenosis for which I am getting epidurals for, now over 10 shots, but I too suffer with FIBRO and PMR-- take pain meds for them and I see a rheumatoid Dr for this Pain like you describe can be another issue-- unless i have missed other posts from you in the group. Guest guest
Thanks. I never heard of PMR. I looked it up and it said that it is mostly dx in people 70 and up. I am only 32 but I will talk to my dr. My next step is the MRI. I finally got the letter from my insurance company allowing me to get one. I just hope they can get this pain figured out. I hate being in this much pain and/or living on pain medication. If I don't take the pain meds, the pain gets so bad that I pass out. I hold out as long as I can before taking anything so I can be functional for my children. I can usually last through the morning but my 1:00 the pain gets so bad that I am in tears. On facebook? Please vote for my daughter to win an Ipad. She has cerebral palsy and the Ipad can be used as her communication device. Guest guest
Mellisa, do not be fooled by the numbers many have PMR who are YOUNGER than you-- it happens and they don't understand it-- PMR is an autoimmune disease. I have had it over 3 years now-- it started with my trauma physically to my C spine, it can come from a trauma or a blow or an accident-- I was diagnosed with it even though my SED rate is normal. It is very painful Ann A poet is, after all, to see ________________________________ From: <Nov03Baby@...> neck pain Sent: Wed, February 23, 2011 10:52:34 PM Subject: Re: Update on me and a favor Thanks.
