Guest guest
Melody, I have been nursing CMT for 15 years, I am now 76yrs old. Ware AFO's. Use cane or walker. I was sure that my CMT was traveling up into the thighs and this was the cause of my having no balance. I made an appointment with a neurologist for a EMG. I, too, have nothing from the knees down but he tested the thighs and it has not traveled there. I asked, " Why have I lost my ability to balance myself? " Because my feet are really numb and nerves there cannot tell the brain that I am standing on ground level, the brain cannot tell my body to balance. Makes sense! He told me to go out and live my life to the fullest. " If people look at the way you walk. Let them. They look at me because of my color......I just go on living my life the best way I can. " I finally feel that I am done with the testing and will make any adjustments needed to keep moving. Ann
