Adult vaccination rates range from 26% to 69% percent, depending on the vaccine and patient group, according to the organizations seeking to increase coverage for influenza, pneumococcal, tetanus-diptheria-pertussis, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, measles-mumps-rubella, chickenpox, meningococcal, human papillomavirus, and shingles. Ninety-five percent of vaccine-preventable diseases occur in adults and result in more than 46,000 deaths each year from the diseases or complications, they said, citing the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
