Guest guest
Thats it God gave us the ability to do woodworking when we lost the usefulness of our hands and feet he gave us grandchildren to pass the skill and knowledge that we learned and added a little of ourselves to it in the process. Haven't totally lost all my usefulness of hands yet legs are on the iffy side some days they work some not thetas why God gave me a clever husband to compensate for my downfalls. Now I have 7 grandchildren to teach and learn from God knows what he's doing up there he definitely has a master plan for us all we just have to be patient and aware. Guest guest
john, i need to be related to you - i need kitchen cabinets - my 1929 house has awful fiberboard cabinets and i planned to make my own - but with arthritus in my neck and now cmt i think it is more than this woman can handle - i like to stick to small things i can handle better - making a 30 x 80 tabletop for my computer was awful - dragging a 4x8 x 3/4 sheet of plywood from truck, to driveway, thru yard and onto sawhorses about killed me. i am not petite but that was too big and too heavy. this last saturda i had to dig a hole 18 inches deep for a mailbox post - river soil - mostly rocks - i had to use post hole digger and then pry bar for every inch - about killed my shoulders, arms and neck but do you think one pick up stopped as they headed for the river or home from the river??? just made me more determined....then the hardware gave me an 80 lb sack of concrete instead of 2 40 lb sacks - how am i supposed to carry that - well we women may be weaker but we improvise - backed my station wagon up to mailbox post and rolled out the concrete and tore it open and scooped into hole - the weather was nice enought to rain snday to solidify the concrete - we are a town of 200 and have no home delivery - however since i am on the way into and out of town they allowed me and my next door neighbor to put in mail boxes - also because we both commute to the city (st louis) and cannot get home in time to get our mail. anyway, my excitement was that another woman is doing woodworking - we learn from each other - not many men help us because most are married and their wives don't appreciate them being in the shop with us! sorry to go on such - guess we hit on one of my passions - that is the upsetting part of cmt - everything i love is to do with my hands - guess i will have to just work faster to do all that i want. regards, rochelle > Reframe! I have been relegated as the Go-for by my son's. I can still operate some of the tools, but not the hand tools, I'm having more and more difficulty with them, but that is why I had two sons. I'm no dummy. E

Guest guest
Hi Jim, It's great to hear that you have such talent. You are fortunate that your children have the knack for this hobby as well. I'm having some major renovations done to my apartment. One task is to lower the ugly old metal cabinet in the kitchen. Too bad I'm not a relative (ha ha)! Keep up the good work despite your hands slowing you down. You have talent that shouldn't be wasted.
