Guest guest
; It's Jim, just back from emg yesterday. First of all, it helps when the Dr. is somebody you trust or have some empathy with. Second it helps if he has some regard for what he is doing to you. Let me explain; The Dr. doing the test is a second generation medic, his dad has looked after my eyesight for years. He was a little " brat " running around the airport washing guy's airplanes for a ride. He understands how annoying the test is and does what he can to attenuate the misery. The bad news is that the test wasn't much different than the first but I walked away feeling much better if you can understand that concept. Funny thing though, he was doing my right peroneal, and thought his machine was bad, I asked what the deal was, he said that the numbers were'nt right. I then told him that at OSU they put the second machine on before they figured out it was me. He did the left leg and it was better, now trusting his results went back to the left. Then, says that my left one was supposed to be bad, I said no, the right, he said the chart says the left. THE CHART WAS TRANSPOSED! I suggested a tatoo on my large belly that says " this side up for EMG " I don't think he has ever seen an axonal loss quite like he was getting but I'm sure of one thing he will do his homework. I am scheduled again to do the hands (he would not do all four extemities " as he stated " on a human " at one sitting. Still no fun but better Jim Nash __________________________________________________
