Guest guest
Alan, here. I just read an article in our newspaper about a study on Lasik type eye surgeries that indicated it may not be as problem-free as previously thought. The study showed a significant number of people having post operative problems and dry eyes was one of the main problems reported. On the other hand, I have a herniated lumbar disc that is damaged so much the doc says microscopic surgery is not an option, only open- back surgery with spinal fusion. The ortho doc seemed knowledgeable about CMT and said that he did not want to do the surgery because I would not heal near as fast as a normal person and might take 1-2 years to recover fully! I have also had 4 other surgeries in the past for torn ligaments in both elbows and left rotator cuff and torn cartilage in left knee. In each of those cases, it took me much longer to recover than the docs expected, but the important thing is that I did fully recover. Thanks, Alan
