Guest guest
(I emailed Marm and JP about their websites and location; here is the reply ~ G) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jean- and I have a new practice in San Diego. We are rewriting our website and will hopefully launch it soon. We are moving the site and are the web masters in our free time. Since many of our clients fly/drive in from around the USA, Mexico, and Canada, we spend a great deal of time dedicated to the visit. Thus, it is taking us longer than we expected to launch the site. We have also been busy reprograming our software that we utilize for the comprehensive mechanical and structural profile reports and evaluations. We are excited about our improved designs of our devices as well as our new recommended training programs. We develop solutions based on our findings, not just braces. Each solution is unique to the individual, since no two CMTers are the same nor even two extremities. The recommended program then addresses what is required to benefit from our device. We address security issues and develop a plan to solve them with efficiency in mind. Our solutions reestablish proper body positioning at the correct time through out the gait cycle. The solutions are based on regaining the most efficient gait pattern possible. This reduces stresses on the whole system, which decreases fatigue, pain, overuse, etc. Our systems allow for the remaining muscles to work at the appropriate time and to shut off at the appropriate time. Our solutions are very comprehensive and are not just braces. We evaluate every deviation that detracts from his efficiency, including every aspect of the body. Efficient walking depends on each boney segment of the body to be in the correct position at the correct time in each of the three dimensions. Conventional braces are casted by placing the foot at 90°, or in other words placing the foot bone at a certain position and controlling it primarily in one plane. We look at the foot as 26 bones and each bone can be deviated in one, two or three planes. Realigning the feet, then aligning each bone on top of a solid foundation improves balance and stability. The body does not have to work as hard to stay upright. Anxiety, security issues, stresses on structures, and fatigue are decreased. Our solutions include a recommended training program based on our specific findings. Ones potential depends on a commitment from them and any support group/family to follow through. We will discuss remodeling in the future on our website. Remodeling is correction or improved joint alignment that was thought lost and thought only correctable with surgery. We feel we can achieve better correction in many cases than what a surgeon can do in a few hours. The better the correction the better the stability. Our solutions maintain people on their feet, surgeries can keep someone down for too long. The body has less trauma to heal. Since most CMTers require longer healing times, this can affect nearly every aspect of ones life. Our advanced systems alone will make improvements, but the real potential is following the comprehensive plan. Our advanced systems allows the training to work, the more one works the more function one will be able to achieve. Wayne State University CMT Clinic is very interested with our outcomes. They are actively looking for Grants to do studies of our outcomes and benefits of our solutions. We were able to demonstrate what we have stated was true. We are eager to have sound science document what we know is possible and to provide more positive outcomes for those that need them. Sincerely, Marmaduke and Jean- PS. Gretchen keep up with the great work that you are doing, as a provider of health related services, we have always tried to place ourselves into the shoes of each person that we see. We look at " if this were me, my mom, my dad, daughter, etc., what would we want or need. The emotions that pour out of your group allows us to feel and place ourselves closer than ever before. We both got into this profession to help people in the purest sense, to do our very best for each person. Managed Care has forced most in the medical profession into survival mode, we chose to follow a different path and develop strategies based on what is best. Financially all our peers are doing better, at the end of the day, we feel better. We have learned a lot about CMT from , it helps us drive to solve problems presented on the listserv, that we think are possible. It has made us much more aware of the daily challenges of CMTers. To solve many of these we found that we had to work and look harder. We realized that the solutions are possible but far more complex than once thought.
