Wow, I've never heard anything about either....where are you getting

this information from?

Fish oil is an important source of omega 3s...and they are important in

maintaining our overall health. And eating fish of any type is much

preferable to eating meat which is full of fat which is hard for our

livers to process and iron which we all know is highly detrimental to

Hep C. It's the actual virus that feeds on the iron...it's not a matter

of the iron being bad for our livers. Or at least that is my take on it.

Spices...I've never heard of any spices being detrimental to our livers.

I know for a fact that cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, coriander,

cilantro, clove, basil, thyme, pepper, rosemary, tumeric, cumin, chili

powder, chives, garlic (which is a liver cleanser), parsley, oregano,

paprika, tarragon, dill, bay leaves, curry powder, dry mustard and

marjoram are not detrimental for our livers when used as seasonings. I

don't know if that holds true if you are going to eat handfuls of them.

<g>

Remember that sugar is very hard on our livers...use maple syrup (pure)

or honey (unprocessed is preferable to processed because it still

contains the enzymes and good bacterias).

Hope this helps clear up some of your concerns.

Blessings

Hi Suzy...

Yep, HCV feeds on iron which is why iron is so bad for us. If you are in

treatment and getting anemic it has nothing to do with iron. Claudine can

tell you what it's called, but increasing iron intake will not help the

anemia caused by treatment.

I suggest if you are having problems with anemia to start taking folic acid

which helps our body create red blood cells. I took it all through treatment

and never became anemic. After treatment I continued taking taking it and all

of a sudden my hemoglobin and hemocrit were way too high...too much blood in

laymans terms. Doc had me go off the folic acid and every thing settled down

to normal again.

I thot iron was just hard on the liver to break down. I hadn't heard

anything about feeding the hcv. Maybe I should hang a sign around my neck

says " don't feed the liver " :)
