Guest guest
Dear , I hope the hepatologist you have an appointment with in September is more current in his/her thinking. I know that I am NOT some expert, but from what I've heard, once you have cirrhosis things tend to progress faster. And from all that I've read, interferon can help keep the cirrhosis from getting worse, and can even improve it sometimes. Especially promising is the info so far on the Roche brand of pegylated interferon that will be out fairly soon, Pegysus I think is the brand name. So far it looks to work much, much better than anything else so far in people with cirrhosis. That is something that you might want to talk to the hepatologist about. Of course, I don't really know what is going on in Canada with these new drugs, and I realize the time frame (and policies) may be different there. Anyway, I hope things go well for you, and make sure you let us know what happens with the new hepatologist. Take care, Claudine ===== Claudine claudinecrews@... __________________________________________________
