Guest guest
, As you can see several members have already responded to you with their personal experiences with the Army and CMT. I must admit I was quite surprised you surfed the net and figured out what was wrong with yourself, and then told the Army doctors to perform an EMG. It is so sad when we have to enlighten our own physicians. But at least you know you have CMT....what Type? I have Type 1. Do any of your family members have CMT? What base are you stationed at in New York. I have a friend who lives in NY, but he's not in the service. As Jim posted earlier, at some point, your commanding officer is going to " have " to talk to you since you are not able to perform your normal duties. Since you are 26 years old, what occupation(s) did you have prior to joining in 2000? You might think of some career options outside of the military. Gretchen has a list of careers of CMTers if you are interested...just contact her. You sound like a very bright girl, so keep your chin up and gain as much knowledge as you can regarding CMT. Best wishes.
