Alisha here,

Well I have an update for everyone.... I'm now employed. Which is great.

Where I live there is a great program that I was able to get back into. Its

called Leads. I called the Ontario March of Dimes to see if they knew of a

place that could help me find a job, since I have a disability. This was

about 3 years ago. They refered me to Leads and then I worked with them but

our government cut their funding but its been reinstated. I have a new job

specialist and she's terrific. Within a day of meeting her, , got me

an interview and I've worked for about a week now.

Also I've been out on narcotics now for my pain. My pain doc said, " because

of the dose of amitriptyline that it should have started to help me. Since

it didn't there is no point in trying other tricycle anti-depressants. for

the anti-convuslants (sp?) I could have tried more gabapentin at a high dose

but since I buy my meds and I don't have a lot of my own money he said that

he would try the narcotic I'm on. My dad is going to be finished paying off

the van in the summer so he will have more money for the extra health

insurance again. When that happens he is going to put me on a slow release

instead of the Percocent. I take it 4 times a day. I can take one or two

pills depending on how I'm feeling, I can also cut it in half. I've been

sick a bit and I'm just adjusting to this all. I must admit that it hasn't

been all butterflies and little white bunny rabbits but all its going to

take is time.

Right now, I'm into my exams. I have my only exam on Monday January, 28 at

12:30 ET. Its math and I will be there for an hour. you are required to stay

there for at least an hour. I will do my best and then I have the rest of

the week off. I also had the 25th off because that was the first day of

exams. On the 1st of Febuary I am meeting up with my friends to celebrate

the ending of exams! Plus later in Febuary I will be meeting a friend of

mine, Chantal has CMT and this will be the first person she will have met

with CMT but this will be my fourth that isn't family. I am really excited

about meeting her and I will take my camera so that I can take a picture of

us for everyone to see.

On the fouth of Febuary I start my next semester classes. I am going to be

taking law and english! I love law, its a great class plus I have one of the

best teachers in the school in my opinion. I've had my law teacher twice

before in my last law and society, challenge and change class. Since I have

written a letter to my teachers about everything, my CMT, pain, fatigue and

my memory issues I am expecting no problems. But I do have a teacher that

just got out of teachers college for english...... it should be interesting

to see how she is going to teach me.

Before someone asked about CMT and memory, I know that someone answered but

I will just say it again. CMT doesn't affect the memory or the brain. Just

for me, its other factors that have affected it and I just happen to have

CMT too.
