boots/braces/'the asethetics' of it/article

Hi !

This is Dawn T.! I am 32, married and have one

child (8 1/2 mos old) and work full time. I also have

braces and got them 4 1/2 years ago. I never adjusted

to the cosmetic problem and had them cut down from

just below the knee to just above the ankle which

still serves it's purpose. Anyway, I never got used to

the cosmetic part of it. I " hide " the braces with my

socks. But I still hate wearing shorts in summer and

won't wear dresses anymore. It just looks too

stupid!!!! What do you feel about the cosmetics? Does

it bother you at all? There is an article in here

posted by Gretchen about the support being built right

in the shoes or boots and it is a thin layer of

something, polyurethane? I don't know. Anyway, I have

been wondering for years why they can't make some kind

of thin brace like that and now they do; they make a

shoe like that! I am very interested in getting

something like this. I am waiting to see a Dr. at the

MDA to see if they can help with anything like this!
