I honestly don't know what the deciding factor will be. Some days I'm hyped to do it and think I'll do fine; other days I have this gut feeling that I'm not going to do well on it. Flip a coin? Pull pedals off flowers and say " I treat; I don't treat; I treat: I don't treat " . lol. Dear , I suffered from hemalytic anemia and had to stop treatment. It's taken almost 5 years to get something that looks like normal lab values. The good news is that my liver damage isn't a horror story. So with that thought in mind, I am going back on treatment in the fall. The last time Procrit wasn't available. IF it does it's job, I might make it. I do understand the flip/flop. So I'm having a busy summer trying to get done what needs to be done, just in case I fall on my face. Anne
Guest guest
Hi Anne.... Stay positive....with the improvements in the pegs and the procrit/epogen meds, you will do just fine. I had problems with anemia and low platelets this time around, but neither got low enough to pull me from treatment although I did have to cut my ribavarinn by a pill a day...and I didn't start having problems until about a month from finishing treatment. I don't regret doing treatment the second time around...it was much easier with pegasys than with the rebetron. But the biggest difference is that I responded to the pegasys and didn't respond to rebetron. Now if I can sustain that response... We'll be here to help you along.... You're experience encouraged me, so, I've made the decision. I hope I made the right decision in the minor delay. It may turn out to be an insurance nightmare, but oh well. Guest guest
Anne, If your insurance doesn't cover Pegasys, go to the assistance folks at www.pegassist.com. And if your insurance doesn't cover any meds for the sides, use those links I posted the other day...the subject line read " Prescription Assistance. " We don't have much medical coverage in this country, but the pharmas so have assistance programs...I used them while unemployed...you just need a doctor to finalize the forms and submit them. And if you can't deal with any potential sides, then you just stop doing treatment. I see it as sorta a no lose proposition. Tatezi And Willem was my inspiration for doing treatment again so I'll be yours...<g> Re: migraines and sleep and stuff Dear Tat, Thank you.
