Guest guest
E, I think you misunderstood my comments. I never said I wanted an ankle fusion, nor have I ever considered it. Joyce made the comment that ankle fusion might eliminate her AFO's. Since I'm considering getting AFO's for the first time, because I've been told they could correct gait, balance, weight distribution, etc., and if this information is correct, I was simply curious as to why she thought this surgery would eliminate the need for them. I can't see where an ankle fusion would correct any of those other things I mentioned. Since I want to learn more and more about AFO's before I take that step, I want to make sure I have the right information. Do they really help these things I mentioned? I am not the least bit interested in ankle fusion - I'm interested in learning more about AFO's. If the only thing they'll correct is toe-drop and turning ankles, I'll probably choose to go without. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for your response.
