Guest guest
Hello Tina and all, This is Sameer, 20 (will turn 21 this May), male, from India, and suffering from CMT. Presently, I am into final year of Bachelors in Computer Applications (a 3-year graduate program). I don’t think there are many Indians in this group. Anyway, I am very willing to communicate with people irrespective of their caste, sex, religion and nationality, though I do prefer people of/around my age! I was diagnosed with CMT way back in 1994. But I am happy my problem is not severe right now! And I can manage almost everything of my own! In my case, CMT has affected faculties like hands, feet, back and ears. I (rarely though) have foot drop. Sometimes I am unable to put in my best handwriting (though readable. I also suffer from partial hearing loss, for which I use a programmable hearing aid, made by company Danavox. Last but not the least, I have scoliosis. Not many people are affected with it. By God’s grace, I have no pains right now. Also I am fully mobile! As of now, I am attending college, tuitions, parties and other similar commitments regularly driving my own two-wheeler and a car - all by my self!! In simpler words, I am independent! I think the only thing spared by CMT is the intellect. And I wish to excel exploiting this faculty to the fullest. Warm regards! Sincerely, Sameer
