Guest guest
Hi- If you hv complete cirochiss is it time to check into liver transplant even though there r few symptons. At the moment I am undetectable-genotype 2b-3 more months left for treatment. I am really worried and stress after my last visit regarding the cirochiss. Dr. told me the medication " bought " me more time. No one knows the outcome after treatment, how much higher are my chances for HCC and how much higher for hep to come back?? I understand it takes a year just to get registered for transplant. I know of several people who said they were waiting 8-9 years--is this the norm. As far as liver transplant--how much more time does that give you, providing everything goes alright with transplant. Is it true u just about hv to wait till u get to deaths door b4 u get the transplant. Lot of questons, I know, but lots of worrying. I guess if cirrochiss is complete then I am @ end stage. Ins is running out. If u hv no ins on a transplant r u just SOL. What about the people who r in really bad shape right now with cirochiss and fluid build up and they must wait 3 months or longer to get into see gastro or heptologist and then must wait another 3 months or longer for any medication, if still qualified with the cirrochiss. Forgive me if i hv asked some of these questions b4. Cher
Guest guest
Just because you have cirrhosis does not mean you will ever need a transplant, especially if you are a sustained responder. In fact, if you are a sustained responder the chance is VERY good you will never need a transplant, and your risk of liver cancer is small. Successful treatment probably does much more than 'buy you time'. It should stop all progression, and hopefully your liver will even begin to heal. Studies are showing this is a real possibility. Quit worrying! Claudine --- runabout_104 <runabout104@...> wrote: > Hi- If you hv complete cirochiss is it time to check into liver > transplant even though there r few symptons.
