Guest guest
Hi Bob, I will keep this simple since as I understand not ALL 'types' of CMT have the DNA test available. Perhaps a person's MD does not know about the CMT DNA tests? Also what CMT DNA tests there are, I understand are extremely expensive, which might keep people away. Maybe 'fear' of the test (finding out a positive diagnosis and ensuing emotions?) Also, I am not clear on how many labs in countries other than the US are doing these tests. Really, this is a great, great question for discussion. There are more and more types being found all the time. And I mentioned in an earlier post that some scientists have discovered genes jumping chromosomes. Since I am in no way a genetist or scientist, only a mere er, I will suggest maybe you can contact Vince at http://www.athenadiagnostics.com and get the full scoop. (Vince, when you read this post, perhaps you would email Bob?) Or wait, better yet, why not explain the current status with all the CMT tests. Maybe Vince, would you be so kind as to give the entire group feedback on Bob's question? I am certain we all would be appreciative. ~ Gretchen bobd11901 wrote: >What I discovered is that the DNA test is greater than 99% accurate.
