Hi Juli,

In ordinary PT for years I was pushed way to hard. So, one day I flat

out quit. I went back to swimming and riding - at my own pace. The PT I

had was good, but they were thinking to 'restore' me to normal - NOT!

Plus it was really boring stuff! A while back I had more PT for a back

injury in a pool - this was great, learned new stuff, exercises in the

pool, kind and gentle; does your PT have water exercise? There are other

members here who do that too.

My experience with exercise is self-taught by trial and error. Walking,

biking, etc. IF I feel pain I STOP for 2-3 days, period. Then resume

slowly. Since we are all different with different types of CMT and all,

the exercise issue of how much depends on us, at least that is my

experience.

Sounds like PT is maybe pushing you too much. You didn't say how often

you go or how long the sessions are. Perhaps inquire about water

exercise; ALSO check out your exercise issues/requirements/etc with your

Dr. You and the Dr. should be calling the shots, NOT the PT. Also, get

copies of your PT progress reports; if you can find another PT, this

will be handy to have.

I am not aware of any websites you need, but will do my best to see if I

can find one and also maybe Paolo can explain more.
