Guest guest
CDC 03-29-11 GEORGIA: " e County Officials Want New Tattoo Rules " Atlanta Journal-Constitution (03.21.11) In e County, home to the University of Georgia, the Health Department is proposing new rules for tattoo artists and body piercers. The proposed regulations - scheduled for a vote in April - would require practitioners to get hepatitis shots, undergo CPR training, sterilize their equipment, and take other precautions. Those meeting the requirements will be licensed by the Health Department. At present, only a business license is required to operate a tattoo parlor in e County. In 1994, the Georgia General Assembly passed a measure giving county health departments the authority to regulate tattoo parlors; the Legislature itself, however, did not establish standards for the businesses.
