Guest guest
I have had increasing neck and back pain for roughly 30 yrs, not related to any accidents, but due to several medical disorders. I have had mixed results with chiropractic in the past, but it seems to be the only treatment that has helped at all, and has any hope of keeping me as functional as possible and decreasing the pain level. I am currently looking for a chiropractor who is good at adjusting the cervical spine (neck), using rotary break techniques (not drop table, toggle, etc). I do best without soft tissue manipulation (which many chiropractors insist on doing) I live near burg, PA , so am looking for someone hopefully in the area (since my stamina is very low, and also due to my neck vertebrae are locked forward, I cannot keep my head/neck upright to drive) Thank you, looking forward to belonging to this group - Les PS: Does anyone know if it is possible that an angle taken with a cervical adjustment could put C vertebrae into a forward subluxated position? Guest guest
I'm sorry you have so much trouble with your neck. Have you had an MRI to see what the problem is? I think better that you get diagnosed first by a spine doctor, before allowing a chiro to work on you. Some spine doctors do use chiropractors if they think the condition of your neck is such that no damage will be done. Sometimes physical therapists are gentler than chiros but they do some of the same things. In my own case, because of inflamation in my veterbral facet joints, I could not tolerate soft tissue massage. I actually had to go on prednisone for 3 months to quell the inflammation and only then could a PT work on my neck. I have improved since then doing the strengthening exercises and improving my posture. Rochelle
