Hi Sameer,

I was given the diagnosis of CMT approx two years ago and I tend to believe

that my Fathers side of the family have the traits...that's were the " genetic

oddities " occur...namely Dwarfism, Downs Syndrome and traits of CMT in

various family members that have as yet gone undiagnosed...I have type

1A...my right hand is more affected...I am unable to hold it out

straight...and I have the high arch and walk with a definite gait...I am

prone to falling..often time at the most inopportune moments..but have come

to accept it and laugh about it...

I am 33...I live in a small town in Florida called Palmetto and I help manage

a shelter for abused and neglected children....as far as family...I am so far

the only one who has the most obvious traits of CMT...my

sister,father,grandmother and brother all have the high arch...but other then

that they're OK...
