Hi, Rhonda! I am an enbrel user...enbrel alone. I tried mtx prior to

starting enbrel, but my liver tests were all elavated, so I had to stop

using it. Enbrel alone is working for me, and it has been 3 years for

me also. gentle hugs! Marcia on the frozen south shore of the Great

Lake Ontario

Hi Rhonda--

I'm on MTX (15mg/wk) and Enbrel. I've been on MTX for about a year

and a half now. I've been on Enbrel since last September. Last time

I was in my RD's office, I asked him about going off of the MTX, as

I'm doing pretty well. He didn't want me to go off MTX as he says

that in his experience and all the research he's read indicates that

Enbrel and MTX together work much better than just Enbrel alone.

If you think you could be doing better, you might want to discuss

going back on MTX with your doctor. Another thing to consider--when

you were on MTX before, did you have side effects? I'm lucky, and

don't really notice any side effects from it, but if I did, I'd be

much more determined to get off of it.

Good luck with your decision!

dordale :)

>Dordale I was on mtx along time ago my Dr. took me off it because I

had lost a small patch of my hair. I had just got done washing my

face one night and took the towel off of my head and seen a small

bald spot. I seen the Dr. the next day and he had me stop the mtx.

Thank you, Rhonda
