Guest guest
Hullo Adrienne. You are going to experience many conflicting opinions from this group about water, water sources, bottled water, distilled, tap water, natural springs, water systems, water filters, etc. It has been discussed at some length in old posts. And as I said, you will get varying input, probably just as confusing as what you have found so far. What are the conflicting readings you have found about reverse osmosis? Glad Day ~ Karla in IL

Guest guest
The conclusion we came to I believe, was to purchase or acquire natural spring water(someone said they actually go to a local spring and bottle it themselves. ) Make sure it's artesian and it has the name of the source spring on it. I usually buy semi local stuff that is from a local spring and bottling company, as opposed to nestle(wich is the only other brand at the local grocer) or some other big brand name. Distilled water is better than drinking straight tap water, but it sucks the nutrients out of you with reverse osmosis... You have to make sure you eat nutrient rich foods to compensate. I like the taste of spring water better anyway. ~MattOn Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 11:00 PM, Dennis <obriensr@...> wrote: Adrienne, I work with a level 6 water quality specialist… if you have some specific questions ask away… check out puritybay.com for some answers on water. Guest guest
Dono the source of the “sucks the nutrients out of you” but it is false, incomplete or misleading… reverse osmosis is just water under the pressure from the city or well having to pass through some really small wholes that only allows the molecules of water through… things bigger than 1 micron don’t fit through the wholes so they don’t make it out into the drinking reservoir or stored water. RO’s filter out viruses and bacteria. The argument by some makers of water filters is that the RO process removes nutrients especially minerals but that is just a way of saying that their units leave in the rocks and other contaminants… The rocks (minerals) are good for kidney stones, gall stones and many other illness due to the rock in the intestinal track. Get a good 5 or 6 stage RO and enjoy water the way nature intended it. Crystal Clear and great tasting. Even ice cubes become clear like icicles in the mountains. Guest guest
OH… you can find a TDS meter at the local Walgreens for about 15 dollars… this will measure the amount of particles in your water… it also has on the meter a gauge that gives you some of the ranges. You can also google TDS meters and find a wealth of information about water and the contaminants and what to do about them. Guest guest
We've used RO in our home for 20 years for all drinking, cooking and ice. It's great tasting and simply removes toxic items. It's not leaching like distilled water. While I agree that spring water is a good choice, it's NOT good choice if you put it into plastic bottles. We use glass for everything. If you drink good water from plastic bottles, then you're consuming plastic particles that have been found in every single body fluid - blood, tears, breastmilk, sweat, semen, saliva. Guest guest
Thank you Theresa, I was researching and some articles show that the RO water becomes aggressive and leaches metals from pipes. They also say it leaches the minerals from ones body. As much info as one can find for a certain product, one can also find just as much against it. It is very confusing. It is good to hear that you have been using it for a long time. It sounds like you are on top of things, with water, plastic and vaccines. are you equally particular about your diet? Much Thanks and Warm Regards, Adrienne > > Hi Adrienne, > > We had reverse osmosis installed in our home several years ago. I > love it. It is very important to keep the filters changed. Guest guest
Most of my information was from the last conversation on this topic. If I had something wrong, it was just an accumulation of all the information I put together previously. I guess I still need to do my research on it. I haven't really looked much into the evidence. I've heard sales pitches from each perspective now, but I haven't heard or read any actual research on the topic yet. I'll stop giving people advice about it until I have. =) I agree with your info on plastic bottles though Theresa. I'm not a fan of plastic, but I don't have a ton of choices at the moment. ~MattOn Thu, Oct 30, 2008 at 9:42 AM, Theresa <tgeorge1@...> wrote: We've used RO in our home for 20 years for all drinking, cooking and ice.
