BACKGROUND

The National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (NPCB) is an institution

established by the Ministry of Health Malaysia in 1978. It is a regulatory

agency charged with the responsibility of quality assurance and regulatory

The gazetting of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984 marked

health care.

Under the Asean Technical Co-operation among Developing Countries (Asean

TCDC) Program, NPCB has been chosen and recognised by the Asean countries as

the regional training centre for quality control of pharmaceuticals. NPCB

has been the host for the training program in quality control and has

successfully conducted such training since 1986. Apart from that, NPCB has

been receiving trainees from Asean and other countries countries including

Myanmar, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Pakistan, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Sri

Lanka, Thailand, Macao, Singapore, Hong Kong, Laos, Cambodia and Mongolia.

NPCB officers have been sent to Sri Lanka, Mongolia and Vietnam as

consultants.

In view of the technical expertise and training capabilities of NPCB, it

received the recognition as a " WHO Collaborating Centre in the Regulatory

Control of Pharmaceuticals " on 10 May 1996.

The designation of NPCB as a WHO Collaborating Centre for regulatory Control

You are right. The WHO website is a big one and can be difficult to navigate. I accidently stumbled onto their cholesterol levels by country when I googled the "name of a country" and "cholesterol". This was about a year ago or longer. WHO has a cholesterol by country page. Once you get to that main page you must select the name of each country, then select mean cholesterol, and a new page will come up with the cholesterol data on that particular country. There is not a one page listing comparing all the countries that I found.

You have to do this yourself.

In the meantime, here is a youtube video of a physician that did this, and graphed his findings. I think you will like this.

It took advice and went to WHO website to look up Cholesterol and heart disease by country and see if there was a correlation. I didn't see any quick easy way to do this comparison, but I did see that the WHO lists Cholesterol as a risk factor for heart disease. If they are spreading misinformation, I think we all have a responsibility to let them know. Does anyone in the group have quick access to the WHO stats on Cholesterol and Heart Disease by country? https://apps. who.int/infobase /report.aspx
