Hang in there sweetie!! You are alot braver than some of us, including me!! Every time I even try to buy groceries or any other kind of shopping where I have to be on my feet for awhile, I can't walk for 2 or 3 days.

Hugs from Ok.,

I am in pretty good shape still.. Just hurt.. I noticed

When I am shopping I really need to bring the kids

To handle the bags of groceries or at least someone to

Bring them in.. I am noticing my arms hurt more..

I am going to the recreation center with a friend tomorrow

To swim..

Water excersices are better for your joints but if you dont have a pool

or like me, I have a pool but don't like to use it then what?

I do some walking...but my feet ususally hurt so bad afterwards that

it's a deterrant for the next time.

I have started doing some Tai Chi which seems to help and is not jarring

on our bones.

This is what I heard.. And for $15 a month I can go

To the recreation center and use any of the facilities..

There is a walking machine I cant think of the name of

It that is suppose to be easy on the joints more than a

Treadmill I may try also.. They also have a hot tub..

I see my rheumy next week.. It is a long way but I

Am anxious to see what the first appt will be.. All he

Really has to go on is my blood test I don't know what

He will do first visit.. I have had spinal problems for years

From an auto accident in the 80's but I have had back problems most of my adult life..

My daughter is a yoga instructor and she thinks that some mild yoga

type excercise would be good. I haven't tried it yet, but I am

planning on it. My in-laws have a pool also so I think that I will

visit it alot more this year. I am ready to anything to help me quit

hurting. It has been a horrible winter here in Ok., and I think that

has contributed alot to my pain.

I thought of Yoga also but then thought better of it. Since most of the

poses are on the floor (ouch on the knees) and bending like pretzel

would not be good for me. So that is why I tried Tai Chi. Kind of

looks weird but I put on music and do it when no one is home. When I'm

done I can feel it in my arms and legs so it must be doing something.

I got a DVD on Tai Chi. It's easy to follow along.

I'm not a doctor, but some mild yoga can be gentle on the joints. Just make sure you speak to your rheumy about it first. Also aquatherapy or water aerobics might be a good idea. By the way, the mild yoga might also help relieve stress. Take care Susie from INBet <wyopoodlemom3@...> wrote: That damp cold is hard.. Here the cold is very dry..
