Morning, I am new to the group. I am 46 and have had RA since 1997.

I was on Methotrexate(for 9 years)and Prednisone(on and off). When I

first came down with it I was not sure what it was..the flu but oh so

worse. The pain was so bad I didn't think i could take it much

longer. I know you all know what I'm talking about since you have it

also.

One on the Methotrexate I did fine, no pain and could go on with my

daily life.

This past April, 2006, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had to

go off the Methotrexate. I was so scared because I knew the pain

would come back and come back it did...with a vengance. Then I

decided to try to treat my RA naturally. It was very hard but I kept

at it and now I am almost pain free. I did a lot of blood test to see

what I was lacking and my system was messed up. I take lots of

supplements. I also had my amino acids checked because I read that

people with RA are often low in Histadine and sure enough I was in the

red. I started taking Histadine everyday and I know that is what has

helped me.

Also my diet changes. Since my cancer dx I stopped eating meat, no

dairy and no sugar. I know that made a huge difference with my RA also.

I know I sound like a add here..but I'm not selling anything. I just

wanted to share my story with others who like me have RA.

I'm hopeing that I don't ever have to go back to meds...but they are

held in reserve just in case.
