Guest guest
Welcome Annette and apologies to you and anyone else who received gobbledegook down the line when they first joined. The egroup is configured to automatically send 6 files to new members. The idea is that these will allo new member to get a feel for the discussion fairly quickly and join in the conversation that is already under way. There are two problems with this. First, I have only just discovered (after following up new members' comments that they did not have the 'secret code' needed to understand the information they were sent!) that this 'circulation faciltiy' does not support Rich Text Format files. It does support Microsoft Office files, so I have now replaced the original RTF files with Word 6 documents. I use a Macintsoh computer, which is not always friendly about communicating with other machines; in particular my current version of Word (98) cannot be read by PC users of Word 97, although I think later versions can cope with it. Some folk have had problems reading a Powerpoint file, also because of incompatability, but we are all beginning to learn what we can do and what we can't with this form of communication! I am attaching the six 'errant files' (in Word 6) to this email, so anyone else who has joined the group in the last month or two and wondered what they should have received may be pleased to open them. Hard copies of these files have also been widely circulated in what was called the 'June mailing' so they will be very familiar to some members.. This brings me to the second problem, which is that they summarise the discussion up to the end of May, but we are due to compile another 'two month digest' at the end of July, so they may seem a bit out of date now! Thanks for joining, Annette, and welcome again. >

Guest guest
Thanks Dave. Sounds like you have been through the mill yourself. The pain I have today is the lumbar area it's about a 10+ I'm so tired of taking drugs I feel like a drug store. I was taking Amben cause I could not sleep but then it got to a point I would sleep about 2 hours and that was that. so my Med Doc put me on Amtripline because depression set in then came the anxiety and another med for that plus oxy for pain all any of it does is makes like I'm not in this world I don't know where I am. I was working for Under Armour and I did an early retirement then I went back part time and could not even do that.So I said the heck with it.They told me later on if I want to come back I can but God knows when that will be. I get my SS and out of that I'm paying COBRA for health insurance and I have no idea what I'm going to do when that runs out that's what worries me to so I'm trying to do everything I can before that happens then I'll worry about the next step. My husband is not good in health and it bothers him that he can't do anything to help me so I try to always be positive around him but he told me today he can see pain all over my face guess I need a new face. I can't believe it has taken me 6 Dr's in the past 10 years to find one who knew what I had. It's unreal. Well I hope you are having a good night and have a good weekend. Peace, Ev. In our State PA they have CHIPS program for kids to allow low income children to be insured for little or nothing. I think it stands for Comprehensive Health Insurance Program. The allowed income is actually quite high up to $48K for a small family. But they also opened the program up to uninsured Adults. Maybe your state has something similar. The trend seems to be the states are taking the lead in adopting universal health care, I know Massachusetts, California, and now PA is looking at it. We can all only hope and pray something will come through by the time we need it. I am blessed and that I'm covered under my Wife's which is pretty good. Before that we paid about $1000 a month for both of us for several years. It was our single biggest expense. I become available for limited Medicaid in November of this year. Hang in there, Dave

Guest guest
Hi everyone I wanted to welcome all the new members we have in the group. I know many people have joined that I haven't had time to welcome yet because I have been so busy lately. This seems to be a bad winter for me so far, too much ice, snow and cold. Finally get a break from that just to go thru the whirlwind of my sons wedding. Now that things are calming down for me hopefully I can take some time to recover and get to meet more of the newest members. Please everyone feel free to post a note and introduce yourself, ask questions if you have any. There are many wonderful people in this group that are probably going thru or have gone thru what you are right now. Helping each other is part of what this group is about. Support for dealing with the chronic pain that many people here live with daily. Also be sure and check out the links section there is a lot of great information listed in there. If you need any help feel free to ask myself or Dave (he is the moderator for the group and my very helpful right hand in the group). Again welcome to the group I am sorry that pain has brought you here but hopefully you will find it easier to deal with when you find so many others here living with it just as you do. Best wishes to all for as painfree day as possible. Sharon Group Owner
