Guest guest
SSDI only requires that the disability to last at least one year and that you can not do substandial gain employment. If your SSA disability income is over the SSI amount there is no property limit, that means you can keep your 401k money where it is. Same with your house. Do check with SSA for the quarters you have worked, and the amount of money you would qualify for. Deborah is correct about getting legal help. > > > > Dear Vicki- I was denied twice before I found a patient advocate. You need to go before the law judge in your state or a representative with undeniable medical proof that you cannot perform gainful employment or simple daily tasks. I applied at 34 years old and denied because of my age. You need to have been disabled for atleast two years and your reward if given is retroactive from the actual disability date. A lawyer will get a cut of that retro benefit reward. If you had worked all your life and have hefty> > rental and household situation. Laws are different in every > state. Get a good attorney and your award will be forthcoming. Email with any other ??????? Hugs, Deborah > >
Guest guest
, I would apply for both at the same time. That is what I am doing. I do not have LTD insurance per se, it is a disability retirement from my employer. The LTD takes less time that SSDI, so you want to start both at the same time. I know about the not wanting to take handouts. I worked in Social Services(welfare) for almost 20 years. I never wanted to become one of my clients, but this is something we have paid into. So it is not a handout. Hopefully, in time we will find a combo on medications that work, and we can go back to work. Social Security has programs that encourage the disabled to go back to work, without requalifing for disability if it doesn't work.
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks so much for the info and encouragement. I will keep working as long as possible, then apply. Guest guest
The last thing you want to do is try to go out on Workman's Comp or disability. Don't let RA make a pussy out of you. You just need to start getting up earlier so as to be more limber by the time you are to start work every day. What you really need to do is is go out there and get yourself a new disease. Yeah, something cureable. This way, it'll give your body something to fight besides itself. Herpes would be for the person who doesn't want to visit the docrot all the time. That should keep your immune system busy for the rest of your life. Or, if you don't want anything permanaent, go get yourself a case of chlamydia or ghonnorea, or even syphillis. You can even rotate your STD's. And, probably give yourself a break in between. Like 2 weeks of syphillis, then treatment, and then one week clean, no disease. Just about the time your body starts to fight itself again, switch to a new disease like chlamydia. You can actually harbor this infection longer without much adverse events, maybe host the big Clamydia for about 2 months, take 3 antibiotic pills, and bam, onto the next one. Sounds crazy? It might just be what the doctor ordered. --- nottarealperson <nottarealperson@...> wrote: > Deborah, Thank you! I will email your friend. I > do or did have a lawyer > for all the work comp stuff. Guest guest
Hi everyone, How did this dis respectful person get this message through. That is the most awful thing I have ever heard on here! This site has always been helpful. Maybe we all get a little off track once in a while, but I do know that we all care about the people on here and all of there problems. I am not sure how to report this to our , but I think that it needs to be done. Dazed and Confused, G in Ok. > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > My disability app was just denied. Guest guest
Deron, I will pray for you. Most of us here are being treated for our illnesses but it doesn’t seem that you are being treated for your ignorance and insensitivity. I pray that you will get the help you need and not attack us who are doing our best to be healed. God bless.
